Before installing Family Guardian  FilterPak version 7.7, you need to completely remove any other filtering software. Follow these instructions for removing/upgrading Family Guardian.
 
If you are upgrading to Family Guardian FilterPak version 7.61 from a previous version, please follow these instructions:
  1. You must uninstall the current version.
  2. Choose Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
  3. Select FilterPak for Windows (or S4F Filtering) and click Add/Remove.
  4. Choose the Remove option, and click Next.
  5. Follow the steps clicking OK, Yes, or Next to each option.
  6. You will be prompted for your Administrative Password, or to contact Support to uninstall, take the appropriate step. (Note: Our phone number has changed since some of the previous versions. If you would like to call our office, call: 1-918-524-1010
  7. Once it has finished uninstalling, choose the "Restart Computer" option, and click Finish.
  8. You are now ready to install the Family Guardian FilterPak ver 7.7.
  9. Download the Family Guardian FilterPak v7.7 installation file. Download Here
  10. Choose the Run (or Open) option, and click OK.
  11. Once the file is downloaded, click Yes to confirm its installation.
  12. Windows will warn you that some files already exist on your computer and ask if you would like to overwrite these files. Select "Yes to All".
  13. Follow each of the steps clicking OK, Yes, or Next to each option.
  14. Be sure to choose the "already have an account" option.
  15. Enter your master account name (a.k.a username) and click Continue.
  16. If you are upgrading from a version prior to 7 (5.xx or 6.xx), you may be prompted to upgrade your account.  If you are prompted to do so, you MUST upgrade the account BEFORE proceeding.
  17. During an upgrade from a version prior to v7, you may be prompted to create a filtering profile.  You MUST create at least one profile to use Family Guardian FilterPak v7.7.
  18. To create a profile, click the create filtering profile link.
  19. Enter the username, password, as well as the categories you want for the filtering profile, and click Add User.
  20. Continue following each of the remaining steps clicking OK, Yes, or Next to each one.
  21. Once the system has restarted, choose the profile you want to login with, and enter the password.  Click Login.
